Yearbook Class

Welcome to the Greywolf publication class. In this class we create the yearbook for Sequim High School.

In yearbook class we will also study the following areas:

Introduction to Yearbooks
In setting up a foundation for creating a yearbook, students need to know the history and purpose of yearbooks, the parts of the yearbook and their legal responsibilities.

Editors
To help their staff create a great yearbook, editors need to know how to be effective leaders, how to brainstorm and create a solid theme and coverage, and understand and use a ladder.

Designers
Designers can make their book visually appealing by knowing how to identify and implement design principles.

Writers
Student reporters use various sources and interviewing techniques for effective reporting to get the information they need to write compelling stories and interesting infographics using journalistic style.

Photographers
Images tell stories, and photographers need to learn basic methods of photo storytelling, what makes great images and how to create them on a deadline.

Technology
While creating a publication, yearbook can offer real-world experience with computer hardware, design software, file management and more.
